Some visuals...

Me and my uncle walking down the road near where I live to try and catch a taxi. The earth is even redder than it looks here! All you see from anywhere here is hills and hills and hills (mille collines!)

SO beautiful... lakes & mountains near the Ugandan border.

This is me and Fox, the dog who lives with us... he loves me, and he looks sweet. But if you come in the gate he's watching so carefully, and he doesn't know you, he will kill you.

The big silverback mountain gorilla!! He's huge! I was pretty close, too... very cool.

The road on the way to the volcanic mountains to see the gorillas (freshly gravelled, so no more hitting my head on the car window!)

Dear Ridiculous in Rwanda,

It looks amazing. I wish that I could wear a skirt outside right now without turning blue. i'm eagerly looking forward to when it changes seasons and people don't know what to wear, as we've discussed before. that's always an entertaining time of year.

And yeah, that gorilla is huge. you're lucky you didn't get crushed, or taken as a gorilla bride. yeah, that's kind of gross, sorry. it had to be said though. keep the pictures and stories coming!

Hey Stranger,

It looks like you've had a great introduction to Rwanda so far. The countryside there is beautiful.

I must say, sitting here in an office, with the outside temperature at some ridiculous minus degree, and looking at your pictures is making me quite jealous.

The gorilla picture is awesome. If I was there, I would have probably tried to wrestle with him, or at a minimum give him a wet willy. I get the impression he would like that.

Keep up the good work on the Blog. I enjoy when you update it, even though I haven't written much, I'm still reading it.

Stay safe,
Jay

Hiya Puddin'

Some incredible landscapes there! National Geographic is as close as I've ever been to anything like that. I could so picture myself sitting in one of those wooden chairs looking out over the hills. The last one looks a little like Mordor... and why are you chasing that little boy?

Glad you're having a great time. Keep the posts and pics coming! Love ya lots,
The R.C.

... and J-man, I bet that gorilla would make it through an auto show without breaking expensive electronic devices in the Mercedes exhibit. I'm just sayin'!
