Sorry I have been away so long!!! It seems that my stomach is actually, NOT, in fact yet adjusted to the changes in diet here (or perhaps it just decided to become un-adjusted again), but I have been, ahem, disposed with some more lovely GI evil. This time complete with fever! Yay!
However, in the mean time, both before I caught the plague again and after I was reunited with my true love (see title), I managed to have some fun.
First: my lifelong dreams came true, and we went to Cadillac!!!! And YES, it was everything I'd hoped for. Plus 10. We stayed for a very short time, leaving at the obscenely early hour of 2am, but it was incredibly fun... no shortage of people to dance with!
Eric (a friend of mine) giving me dancing lessons after dinner at home. You must be prepared to go to Cadillac.
This weekend was slightly more low-key, with Patrick and Eben taking me to crash another wedding. It was great, although the food was delayed a little (or, you know, A LOT), and the reception "starting at 9pm" included a buffet that we finally got to (cold food and all) at, oh, 12:30. Meh. This lead to Patrick whining quite a bit, and an extended photo shoot in the car and restaurant as a result of our boredom. See below:
Patrick is hungry, and cannot be bothered to look at the camera.
One of the MANY photos in the Patrick Taking Pictures Of Naomi Bored in the Car set.
In other boredom news, I cut my hair (as you may be able to tell).
Other than that, there's just a lot of Naomi trying to make plans for the future... I have succeeded in finding an East Africa travel friend, so we're heading to Tanzania and Kenya in May. And before that, I'll be going to Uganda by myself, just for kicks. More significant life plans include a mad rush to apply to a very exciting program for next year that I previously thought I wouldn't be able to get into (and I may not still), but this is exciting/nausea-inducing nonetheless.
Shout-outs!!!!
Emily, my faithful friend and blog commenter. Someday you will realize the error of your ways, quit your job and become irresponsible. That day, you will ask me "why didn't I do this sooner?" And I will reply "I don't know, Emily. I. don't. know." Good story, eh? Are you going to Ireland?? I think you should!! If I don't get into this program I mentioned, see you in the Tdot come fall.
The RC: I miss you!! Hope you and the wifey are well... Can't wait til I come home, you guys come over, I make delicious (if I do say so myself) french toast extravaganza, and also maybe we could have some brie and garlic on baguette?? *salivates* Why do I do this to myself???
Stephie B!!!! Yay! You've joined the ranks of Officially Awesome People (ie. those who have commented on me blog). I'm thinking about you, especially lately!!!!! Oh my goodness, so exciting.... the little one will be here soon!!! Hope everything's going well. I expect copious amounts of pictures very soon!! I am so coming to meet the (hopefully mullet-free) adorable girl as soon as I can when I get back, and take the new mom out for dinner. Stay well. Keep in touch! P.S. please name her Beyonce.
Missing all of you!!!

Naomi!
It's nice to hear that you and your true love of cipro have been reunited... :) Hope your tummy is feeling better!
And I like the hair - it looks great on you!
Sounds as though your travel plans are well under way - and sound awesome!! You will have to continue with posting the amazing pictures!
~INTERLUDE~ Suzy says she misses you and thinks of you every day, and can't want to see you when you get back. She will send you a seperate email - she has lots to tell you. ~END INTERLUDE~
Work has been... well, there has been issues with space - as I'm sure you can recall! And unfortunately our group has been hit the hardest - in fact, our group has been the only one to be affected. Suzy, Steph and Robyn will be in different offices. I was not affected - which is probably a reflection of the fact that I'm already in what is lovingly called the Sweatshop.
As usual, nothing too new with me. I believe that I have developed arthritis of the thumb. Seriously. It flares up on occasion with this odd achy feeling. It is limited to just my left thumb. It is a medical mystery.
Missing you much!

Hiya Chicky!
So, back with Cipro eh? Seems as though the two of you are pretty serious after being "on a break". Just think of it for a moment though... could you imagine if your last name was "floxacin"? You know, "Naomi and Cipro floxacin". People could call you Floxy for short.
Sounds like some great plans for East Africa! You are probably already aware of this, but Mount Kilimanjaro is right on the Tanzania/Kenya border. According to my friend Wikipedia, it has the "highest peak in Africa" (I won't pretend I knew that before i read it). Might be an impressive place to visit if you're around that area during your trek. You can even poke around on the Serengeti on your way! The Serengeti Migration should be almost straight east from Rwanda on the way to Kilimanjaro at the time that you'll be in Tanzania. You may have to rent a Land Rover and drive for a couple of months, but it would be impressive. Now that I have planned your entire trip, feel free to give me a shout if I can be of further service. I'm pretty good with Google Earth, as well as a bow staff.
We visited the family on the weekend, so be sure to check out the website for more pictures and videos. Again, doing my best to bring the fun to Rwanda for you! I included a picture of a snack we made in your honour. I thought of you as I ate it, but I didn't save you any. We will just have to have it again when you get home. Oh, and french toast extravaganza... you may absolutely say so yourself! I'll bring the icing sugar (genius... shear genius).
Good to know you still miss me. I thought you might have grown tired of me when we shacked up together for a week (that should keep you busy with questions for a while). Take care of yourself sweetums (especially your tummy) and good luck with the ongoing plan-making.
Love you & miss you lots!

I hope they never find out that lightning has a lot of vitamins in it, because do you hide from it or not?
