cryptography & a lack of potato-mashers

A post about randomness....

The decals on the matatus (local buses) around here are amusing me today, and thus I shall write about them. Each of them have a logo/decorative thingy on the front windshield, and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to what they are. It is literally anything that anyone would ever feel like writing. It is so random to see all these things on buses. Examples...

The religious:
  • "Jesus Christ" (this always sounds like swearing to me, but I really don't think it's 'sposed to be)
  • "Allah Akbar" (Fair enough.)

The brands/American influence:

  • "AND1"
  • "Puma"
  • "G-Unit" (Yes... G-Unit.)
  • "Beyonce"

The I-have-absolutely-no-idea-category:

  • "Kenny O'Hare" (What? Why.)
  • "Vin Diesel" (Why not.)

I am absolutely going to get some pictures up of these things and other examples of randomosity (yes, I know it's not a word).

Until then, I got a buttload of shout-outs to give...

Em: ask for a shout-out and you shall receive. And by "ask", I mean "comment on my blog". I am shocked and appalled that you threw up in your mouth a little when GP proposed! I woulda thunk that that level of repulsiveness would have at least made a part of your soul die. I can't wait til I get home and we go to NYC together!!! As long as you promise not to bully me if we happen to dance in a fountain together.

the RC: *sigh*. You're awesome. That is all. No, wait! Also, Kool-Aid is great. More books should have it on their pages. Please teach me how to kill crows with toast ninja stars. This sounds like a hobby I could get on board with.

Nemmy: Ah! We have some things to talk about... and before your motherly imagination gets to working overtime, it does not involve a) my safety b) any kind of engagement c) well, actually anything very exciting at all. But... it does involve flights and travel plans and such nonsense, so let's chat soon, shall we? Also, I shorted out my keyboard with all my tears looking at Boo & the Cone Dogs.... again, I will say awwwwwwwwww.

DG: Poker? I don't even know her!! It had to be said. Love love love your emails, and I am so glad that you're getting in some good skiing. Whistler for New Year's? Please don't tempt me so.

Kate: Stop. STOP IT. You are making me jealous with your awesome pictures and stories of steak, chocolate and more. I hope that your search for the perfect job (for ME of course) is coming along nicely. How's the training for Miss Tampa Fitness Comp going? Please send me pictures of you and your abs in a bikini. Is Nippy dj-ing the event? I hope so. Luke says not to be such a dummy. I can't think what he'd be referring to. Surely not the whole Argentinian truck driver hitchhiking event? That's known to be a completely safe and recommended activity for any small Canadian girl travelling the world....

Ray-Ray: Blogger sucks sometimes, I know!!! But I will gladly accept the cut-and-paste blog comment you so thoughtfully emailed to me... and your sacrifice of the precious KD. I fully understand the significance of that, and it warms my heart. June. Yes. Ok, not Thailand. I think maybe India, perhaps? Ash says it rulz, and it's really cheap for those of us on a 10cent/day budget. You may not even have to be a blue-wigged "hostess". Bonus! See ya there, lover. We'll talk soon.

Lukey: I have passed along your message. You're welcome. The crow continues to taunt me, both with his eyes and his incessant crowing. Also, Fox has started up the Kigali chapter of The Nocturnal Doggie Choir, and they practice from oh, 2am on til morning. Lovely. Chat soon, hermano.

Whew. That's more than enough from me.... love and big hugs to you all!

I love shout outs, so i will post some more. i like to post too though, so it works out.

RE:bus ads. If you find a random, giant, bus ad on the side of the road, make sure to bring it home and use it as decoration in your room. Also, I hope that you're not pushing people in front of buses and laughing anymore because it really isn't funny for the person whose life flashes before their eyes!

what i told you yesterday about my plans for the fall seems like it will actually happen, so just a heads up!

also, if we go to nyc and dance in a fountain i won't push you over. trust me. i'll be there for you, when the rain starts to fall. i'll be there for you, like i've been there before. i'll be there for you, like you're there for me too. doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo. (and the light goes off).

hope you're having a wonderful day.

emily

p.s. yesterday when you were saying you needed someone to come travel in east africa, you don't know how tempted i was to just give me resignation. i think i could have made it happen too if it was a few months later. blah.

What's up chicky?!

Just thought I would say a quick "HI" and check up on you. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to get back out for a visit to the ranch for another photo session. By the way... you're so much more awesome-er than me, I'm just tellin' it like it is. I asked myself recently, why are there so many songs about rainbows, and what's on the other side? I know the answer, do you? ;)

Love ya & miss ya!

I hope if dogs ever take over the world and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas.
