visually stimulating (like an impressionist painting)

Pics from the Butare trip...

Me on the bus, with Closey McToucherson beside me moving steadily nearer.

The forest near the university campus... so green!

Why can't I ever be normal in pictures???

The teeny red blob is Elsa walking... gives you an idea about how tall these trees are!

Me on the bus. Part deux.

Me n' Hilaire... shackin' up.

Monkeys in a jacaranda tree.

Just.... cool.

Severe posting issues... now resolved.

That is one heck of a cute monkey in the jacaranda tree! Do they all have strange red and white tails? I'm also curious... were you smelling that flower or preparing to eat it? No matter. Still a very nice picture and nothing abnormal about it. The shot with Elsa the red blob immediately made me think that they should hold a World Rally Championship race in Rwanda. You can be my co-driver and call out the turns and hazards for me. Just make sure Elsa stays off to the side a little more. I might pull the hand brake and swing the back end right into the ditch.

Going to inspect the new family member this weekend. I'll hug Mags and Avs for you, and allow Chrisy to goober on my shirt in your honor. Love ya lots babe! The R.C.

How come the dove gets to be the peace symbol? How about the pillow? It has more feathers than the dove, and it doesn't have that dangerous beak.

Hey Nomes,

Crazy pics, I'm a huge fan of the monkey business in the tree. I'm really glad to see you're having such a great time!

Have you found any climbing crags yet? Looking at the rest of the photos, I can only imagine the hidden gem crags in those hills.

Ryan, that expensive electronic device in the Mercedes exhibit was already broke.

Nomes.
Comments here for all of ur blogs that I have been remiss to comment on, being on the beach with no wireless internet. Well maybe there was wireless, but to bring a mac to the beach, with the wind and the sun, whatever were you thinking. True my devotion to you should have demanded a try, as that would have been terribly romantic. (writing love poems to my African lover while on the beach staring across the ocean at her). However, the pain of missing you makes in hard and so I made the mistake of trying to burying for the week. I was of course not successful. more on this later.
Comments on blog. Pics are amazing. I need to add Africa and in particular Rwanda to my list of countries visited. I love that you are having fun, making friends, eating at carwashes and being crushed by men on the bus. Brings back memories of my trips. well perhaps i did the crushing but other then that lol.
do take care and know my love is yours even if I bury it deep to make it through this time apart.
